HEIKKI SEPPA (1927-2010) is a Finnish born silver and goldsmith considered to be one of the most innovative and influential metal smiths of the later 20th century.

His bold and sculptural organic work is represented internationally in both museum and private collections.


Heikki spent most of his youth at a children’s home. At the age of 14 he attended the new Goldsmith’s School in Helsinki and would later work at Georg Jensen in Copenhagen.


He emigrates to British Columbia 1n 1950 and will soon move to Bloomfield Hills Michigan where he attendsThe Cranbrook Academy of Arts. He will teach art in Louisville, KY in the early to mid 1960’s and later at Washington University in St. Louis from 1965-until retirement in 1992.


Seppa was a founding member of Society of North American Goldsmiths. He dies in Bainbridge Island Washington at age 83.
